Professor Kevin R. Johnson spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle for a Jan. 11 story headlined “Can ICE arrest you? What the law says about agents’ actions and protester rights.”

Professor Chimène Keitner wrote a Jan. 3 opinion piece for The Fulcrum related to President Donald Trump’s demands under the Federal Tort Claims Act. The article’s headline reads “Congress Shouldn’t Let Federal Tort Claims Become Political Gifts.”  

Professor Chimène Keitner wrote an explainer for Just Security on the significance of Nicolás Maduro’s assertion in a U.S. federal court on Jan. 5 that “I am still the president of my country.”

On Feb. 10, Professor Kevin R. Johnson will deliver a lecture, "The Trump Administration's Racial Dragnet: Immigration Enforcement in Los Angeles." Professor Darien Shanske spoke to State Affairs for a Dec. 8 story on a proposed one-time wealth tax on California billionaires that could help close an expected $100 million gap in the state’s health care system. 

Professor Albert C. Lin spoke to Undark for a Nov. 25 story headlined “Pharma Pushes Back on State PFAS Regulations.” The story details pharmaceutical interests’ assertions that state laws regulating the class of synthetic chemicals are overly burdensome.

Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law Albert Lin specializes in environmental and natural resources law and also teaches Evidence at UC Davis School of Law.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson served as the moderator of a Dec. 10 event featuring University of Wisconsin-Madison Professor Marla A. Ramírez, the author of the new book Banished Citizens: A History of the Mexican American Women Who Endured Repatriation. The book talk was part of the "Making Connections: New Works in Legal History" series by the American Society for Legal History.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson was quoted in The National Desk's Dec. 11 story, "Golden ticket to the US? Applications go live for Trump's new $1 million visas." Read more. 

Professor Holly Cooper helped draft an amicus brief that proved instrumental in a  U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit decision in November to allow attorneys to recover costs in immigration habeas cases.
