Professor Afra Afsharipour presented at a faculty workshop at St. John’s University School of Law with St. John’s Professor Darren Rosenblum.

Afsharipour and Rosenblum discussed their co-authored paper, “The Inclusion Imperative for Repairing Corporate Governance,” which is forthcoming in The Business Lawyer.

On March 19, Professor Afra Afsharipour delivered the Castetter Endowed Lecture at California Western School of Law in San Diego.

Afsharipour’s lecture, “From Pipeline to Power: Tracking Persistence and Progress in Corporate Governance and Practice,” examined both gains toward and enduring structural barriers to gender equity in corporate leadership.

An April 13 story on the the American Bar Association website cited and quoted research by Professor Afra Afsharipour.

Professor Lisa Ikemoto commented for a Jan. 31 San Francisco Standard story on Dr. Aimee Eyvazzadeh, a San Ramon-based fertility doctor who has built a reputation for helping women get pregnant and has been nicknamed the “egg whisperer.”

On March 5, Professor Menesh Patel presented his paper, “Shared Authority, Inadequate Enforcement: Antitrust Oversight of Wholesale Electricity Mergers,” at the Cambridge-USC Antitrust Workshop.

Professor Menesh Patel’s primary research interests include antitrust, corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets. He is the recipient of UC Davis Law’s 2025 Distinguished Teaching Award.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson spoke to the Sacramento Bee in early April regarding the return to the United States of Maria de Jesus Estrada Juarez, a Sacramento woman who had been deported to Mexico despite having Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson was quoted in a March 30 San Francisco Chronicle story, "S.F. immigration court is being dismantled. Charts show how bad it's gotten for asylum-seekers." Read more.

In a March 6 article, The National Desk quoted Professor Kevin R. Johnson about President Donald Trump's appointment of Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin to serve as Homeland Security secretary. This followed Trump's firing of Kristi Noem.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson was quoted in an April 2 article in CalMatters, "Federal judge: Continued Border Patrol sweeps in California violated court order." 

On March 8, Professor Elizabeth Joh gave a keynote lecture at the inaugural Judicial Institute on AI at Stanford Law School.

Joh joined a group of invited experts to discuss emerging questions on the use of AI and the law before an audience of state supreme court justices from around the country.
