On March 27, Professor Courtney Joslin participated in a panel as part of the Case Western Reserve University School of Law conference “The ReproCussions of Barriers to Care: Youth Access and the Fight for Bodily Autonomy,” 

Professor Sarah Polcz appeared on the Tax Notes Talk podcast to discuss her recently published article “Sharing the Algorithm: The Tax Solution to Generative AI.” 

Professor Kevin R. Johnson spoke to the San Jose Mercury News on March 8 about the Bay Area News Group’s findings of a surge in arrests by immigration agents of people with no apparent criminal records.

Professors Courtney Joslin and Brian Soucek co-organized and participated in the West Coast Sexuality, Gender and the Law Conference, held March 13-14 at UC Irvine School of Law.

Joslin presented her article “Birth Certificates, Biology, and (In)Equality.” Co-authored with Yale Law Professor Douglas NeJaime, the article is forthcoming in the Northwestern University Law Review.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson spoke to NPR station KVCR for a report on the arrest of an alleged federal immigration agent who pulled a gun on a 17-year-old boy in Riverside County. Johnson called the arrest “extraordinary.”

Professor Nila Bala was an invited speaker at the California State Assembly’s Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee’s March 3 informational hearing on surveillance. 

Professor Raquel Aldana spoke to writer Alex Russell for a UC Davis College of Letters and Science story on recent immigration enforcement actions, including the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis in January.
