The Daily Journal quoted Richard Frank in an Aug. 3 article, "Colorado river plan sets stage for wave of water lawsuits." 

Frank discussed the dispute among the seven states that rely on the Colorado River as they face cuts in water deliveries during the current severe drought conditions. 

Richard Frank, professor of environmental practice (ret.) and senior fellow with the California Environmental Law and Policy Center, spoke to the Daily Journal about the California Supreme Court's decision in Sunflower Alliance v. California Department of Conservation.

Professor Kevin R. Johnson was quoted in a July 28 PennLive article, "Penn State abruptly changes dean at law school. But why?"

In a July 30 story in the Sacramento Bee, Professor Kevin R. Johnson commented about the detention of minors held at a Sacramento ICE facility. He said that the government likely violated the Flores settlement, which provides protections for children held in detention. 

Professor Kevin R. Johnson was quoted in a July 31 article that ran in the Sacramento Bee and Modesto Bee about ICE arrests at courthouses. 

The Bee reported that in the last month ICE detained criminal defendants at the Stanislaus County courthouse before scheduled hearings in at least two known cases. 

Johnson told the Bee that ICE targets courthouses because defendants are required to appear there.

On June 25, Professor Sarah Polcz and George Washington University Law Professor Jeremy Bearer-Friend appeared on the Stanford Legal podcast to discuss how large AI firms should pay a tax with stock, not just cash.

Professor Lisa R. Pruitt was quoted in a July 7 story in ShastaScout about recent election results in a conservative area of California. 

Pruitt said that the fact several conservative incumbents in Shasta County did not win re-election could point to a shift in residents voting strictly on party lines. 

Professor Lisa R. Pruitt commented in a July 8 story in EdSource about Bobbie Simpson's tenure so far on the board of the Gateway Unified School District in Shasta County. Simpson is the first elected openly transgender person to serve on a California school board. She was elected in 2024 to serve a four-year term.

Professor Karrigan Börk spoke with Stateline for a July 20 story about what experts say is the unlikelihood that states will be able to safeguard species in the wake of the federal government’s rollbacks to the Endangered Species Act.

Professor Raquel Aldana appeared on the July 21 episode of Midday Edition on San Diego public radio station KPBS. Titled “Should we call ICE detention centers ‘concentration camps?,” the episode focused on appropriate terminology for Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities.
