The Arc appoints Professor Harris to its national board of directors
Professor Jasmine E. Harris has been named to the national board of directors of the The Arc, the largest national community-based organization advocating for and with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
With her new appointment to the national board, Harris will chair the Arc’s legal advocacy subcommittee, on which she has served since 2019.
The Arc describes its mission as “promoting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.” It has a network of more than 600 chapters across the country.
Jasmine E. Harris is a professor of law and Martin Luther King Jr. Hall Research Scholar at UC Davis School of Law. Professor Harris is an expert in disability law, antidiscrimination law, and evidence. She is a law and equality scholar with a particular focus on disability. Professor Harris received her J.D. from Yale Law School and her B.A. (magna cum laude) from Dartmouth College.
