International Law

Since its founding, UC Davis School of Law has served as a home to world-renowned scholarship in international, comparative, and transnational law, and King Hall’s pioneering international studies programs have long brought scholars and professionals from all around the globe to UC Davis. The UC Davis Center for International Law and Policy (CILP) provides opportunities for enhanced student engagement with international, comparative, and transnational legal issues and experts. UC Davis Law also offers an International and Comparative Law Concentration, which provides students with essential tools to understand how law operates in a global context and prepares them to address legal issues that cross international borders.

In the International Law area of study, academic courses advance students’ understanding of world affairs through analysis of international law, politics, and business. The program includes a variety of options, from international business transactions to international human rights and international litigation.

In addition, students in the International Law area of study have abundant opportunities for experiential learning, such as moot court competitions, like the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition; the Immigration Law Clinic, which provides firsthand experiences in an actual legal setting with client interactions, writing, research, and advocacy skills; and participation in student organizations such as The UC Davis Journal of International Law and Policy.

King Hall graduates with the International Law focus join a network of UC Davis Law alumni who work in diverse careers in the private, government, and nonprofit sectors throughout the world.
