Dean Johnson, Professor Hing Speak at USF Immigration Symposium

Dean Kevin R. Johnson and Professor Bill Ong Hing spoke at the USF Law Review Symposium held at the University of San Francisco School of Law on "The Evolving Definition of the Immigrant Worker." 

Dean Johnson was part of a panel on "The Meaning of Immigrant Worker - Drawing Parallels Between Chattel Slavery and U.S. Immigration Policy," which was moderated by Professor Gerald Neuman of Harvard Law School and which included Professor Devon Carbado of the UCLA School of Law and Professor Rhonda Magee of University of San Francisco School of Law. 

Professor Hing was part of a panel on "ICE Raids: Raising Human Rights Issues in the Immigrant Worker Context," moderated by Professor Maria Ontiveros of University of San Francisco School of Law, and featuring documentary photographer and author David Bacon and Professor Lorraine Schmall of Northern Illinois University College of Law.

Kevin R. Johnson is dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.

Bill Ong Hing, a professor at UC Davis School of Law, is recognized nationally as an immigration law and race relations expert. He is the founder of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center in San Francisco.
