As KHOP Marks 25 Years, Program Alums Attest to its Power

Since 2001, the King Hall Outreach Program has helped high-potential first-generation or economically underserved college students and recent graduates gain the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the law school admissions process.

The brainchild of then-Assistant Dean of Admission Sharon Pinkney, KHOP began as an in-residence program, held during the summer, before assuming its current schedule of distinct winter and summer sessions unfolding over four Saturdays.

Mila and Ernie Llorente '75 Support Student Summer Public Interest Work

 

Mila and Ernie Llorente ’75 have made a gift to establish a public interest internship fund at UC Davis School of Law. 

The Mila and Ernie Llorente ’75 Public Interest Internship will provide stipends to support students who work for city or county governmental agencies during the summer, with a preference for positions in the Bay Area.

Civil Rights Clinic Students Max Kohn, Kiar Rivers Argue Before Ninth Circuit

 

On March 4, law students Max Kohn ’26 and Kiar Rivers ’26 argued on behalf of a Civil Rights Clinic client before a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco. The panel was comprised of Ninth Circuit Judges Milan D. Smith Jr. and Ryan Nelson, and Brian Morris, the Chief Judge of the District of Montana, sitting by designation.

Intraschool Negotiations Competition Draws 28 Teams

The King Hall Negotiations Team hosted 28 teams of highly motivated first-year UC Davis Law students on Feb. 28 at the 18th annual Intraschool Negotiations Competition.
