Rithwik Gupta '25, Steven Li '26 Compete in Invite-Only M&A Negotiations Event

Rithwik Gupta ’25 and Steven Li ’26 made a strong showing at the invite-only MAC Cup II: American Bar Association M&A Negotiations Competition. The pair advanced from October’s initial round of 64 teams to Novemeber’s second round of 32 teams.

Gupta and Lee skillfully negotiated a draft purchase agreement and issues list from both buyer and seller perspectives. 

The students wish to thank Professor and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) expert Afra Afsharipour, who reviewed the written materials the team submitted as part of the competition, faculty advisors Jeff Osofsky ’09 and Sarah McBride ’09; alumni advisors Jamie Kitano ’09 and Jake Storms ’10; and student coach Max Davis ’25.
