Environmental Law Students Excel During Spring Semester
UC Davis Law environmental law student experienced remarkable success during the spring 2025 semester.
In February, the 3L trio of Kaylinn Charnley, Abigail Talboy and Alina Werth finished among the three finalist teams in the prestigious Pace University Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Thanks to King Hall alum and longtime coach David Green ’12 for guiding the team.
On March 14, the Environmental Law Society held the symposium “Resilient by Design: Climate Adaptation & the Future of Housing in California,” which attracted a diverse and engaged audience for a spirited discussion of California housing policy in a changing climate. Special thanks to symposium co-chairs Kelley Xuereb and Jillian Gronnerud.
On March 21, Pendar Salemi ’26 and Andrew Bridges ’26 finished as finalists in the California Lawyers Association Environmental Law student negotiations competition.
Madi Richards ’25 received the 2025 California Water Law Writing Prize for “Notice is Half the Battle: Siskiyou County Farm Bureau v. California Department of Fish & Wildlife and Justifications for State Regulation in the Face of New Problems,” which she wrote for Professor Karrigan Börk’s “Cases and Places” class.
