Professor Joslin Attends JEB-UFL Meeting at Harvard Law

Professor Courtney Joslin attended the semiannual meeting of the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Family Laws (JEB-UFL), held Dec. 8 at Harvard Law School.  

Joslin serves as the Association of American Law Schools liaison to the JEB-UFL, which is responsible for monitoring all family law-related uniform and model acts and recommends subjects for possible uniform laws.  

Professor Chandrasekher's Berkeley Law Talk Addresses Consumer Redlining

On Dec. 4, Professor Andrea Cann Chandrasekher spoke at UC Berkeley School of Law about her research on consumer redlining. The law school’s Law, Economics and Business Workshop presented the event.

Chandrasekher’s presentation addressed the type of retail discrimination that “occurs when chain stores in Black neighborhoods offer a lower-quality consumer experience than those same chain stores in white neighborhoods.”

Immigration Law Clinic Reaches Key Settlements Protecting Detained Youths

The UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic reached landmark settlements on behalf of children held in immigration custody.  

Along with the National Center for Youth Law, Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law, and Cooley LLP, the clinic arrived at settlements in the 2018 Lucas v. Becerra case regarding detained children with disabilities;  psychotropic medications; and access to counsel.
