Professors Lisa Ikemoto, Angela Harris take part in roundtable discussion on campus
On April 12, Professor Lisa Ikemoto and Professor Emerita Angela P. Harris took part in a roundtable discussion on campus hosted by HATCH: Feminist Arts and Science Shop (of the UC Davis Humanities Institute) and the 21st Century Coolies Project.
Ikemoto and Harris joined scholars from Stanford, U. of Chicago and USF for the discussion, titled “Precarious Reproduction Law, Labor, Migration and Care in Tenuous Times.”
Lisa Ikemoto, Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research and the human tissues market.
Angela Harris a professor emeritus at UC Davis School of Law, where she was the Boochever and Bird Endowed Chair for the Study and Teaching of Freedom of Equality, as well as director of the Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies at UC Davis School of Law. One of the nation's foremost scholars in the fields of critical race theory, feminist legal theory, and civil rights, she joined the UC Davis faculty from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2011.
