La Raza Law Students, Black Law Students Association Hold Welcome BBQ

The La Raza Law Students Association and the Black Law Students Association held their annual Welcome BBQ on a warm Saturday afternoon in the King Hall courtyard. A wonderful group of first-year students were welcomed by our returning second- and third-year students with good food and good cheer. 

Among others, Professors Cruz Reynoso, Leticia Saucedo, Clayton Tanaka, Amagda Pérez, and Irene Joe attended this event in support of the students. (That’s Professor Joe, a University of Texas alum, pictured below, giving the “Hook ‘em Horns” salute.) The new board of the LRLSA was introduced.  I welcomed the group and spoke of the importance of student groups to the King Hall community. Professors Pérez and Reynoso also addressed the students.

It was a warm event for an amazing group of new and returning students.
