Countdown to TESLaw at King Hall
Posted By Kevin R. Johnson, Sep 18, 2009
This week, I had a great visit with one of King Hall's strongest supporters: Gordon "Gordy" Davidson, Chairman of Fenwick & West (http://www.fenwick.com/), a leading law firm whose attorneys are experts in not only the law, but also technology and life sciences. That is why Fenwick & West is the perfect partner for our lecture series in Technology, Entrepreneurship, Science, and the Law, also known as TESLaw. The next installment of the series is coming up in November, and we have a top-notch program in store.
Assistant Dean Jean Korinke and I met with Gordy (http://www.fenwick.com/attorneys/4.2.1.asp?aid=304\) at the Fenwick & West office in Mountain View, right in the heart of the Silicon Valley. We had a great discussion about new developments in legal education and the upcoming TESLaw event. Gordy's son, Andrew, is a recent graduate of UC Davis School of Law (Class of 2009) and soon-to-be Associate at the Sacrament office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
We are thrilled that Fenwick & West is sponsoring the TESLaw lecture series. The event coming up on November 6 will be the second of five annual installments. The theme is "CleanTech in the New ‘Environmental' Environment: Mapping the evolving landscape for CleanTech entrepreneurs and professionals."
For a look at the exciting panels we're lining up, please visit http://www.law.ucdavis.edu/news/events/fenwickwest/cleantech-program.html. Panelists will discuss developments in the entrepreneurial environment and the expanding role of universities and governments in providing financial, regulatory and technological support for the CleanTech industry.
And who are we inviting to attend this important symposium? Entrepreneurs, executives, students... and Governor Schwarzenegger! After all, he is a leading advocate for clean technology!
Will he attend? Stay tuned...
