UC Davis School of Law hosted “Crisis Migration: An International Perspective,” a conference that brought legal researchers from UC Davis and the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich together to present results of their studies on the social protection of “crisis migrants” including unaccompanied minors, climate change migrants, and those fleeing structural poverty.

Balkin, Knight Professor of Constitutional Law & the First Amendment at Yale Law School delivered a lecture titled "Soylent Green Is the Right to Forget Your Robot Is Spouting Fake News: Free Speech Theory in the 21st Century" as part of a week-long visit to King Hall as the UC Davis School of Law Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Scholar in Residence.
Sister Simone Campbell ’77, Executive Director of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice in Washington, D.C., will deliver the commencement address at the 2017 UC Davis School of Law Commencement Ceremony. The event will take place on May 20 at the UC Davis Mondavi Center.
A King Hall team including Holly S. Cooper, Co-director of the UC Davis School of Law Immigration Law Clinic, Professor Lisa Ikemoto, Jimmy Newman ’14, and David Jefferson ’14 worked with Richard Vaughn of the ABA Family Law Section and Immigration Commission to research, draft, and edit Resolution 113, which asks the U.S. Department of State to recognize children of U.S. citizens born via alternative reproductive techniques as U.S. citizens.
