Research Rx Sessions

Need a dose of legal research help? Research librarians will host four lunchtime Research Rx sessions on Wednesdays starting May 15th. Each session will provide training on a different practical research topic frequently encountered by students in summer jobs and internships. 

Summer & Post-Grad Access to Westlaw, Lexis & Databases

Can you use your law school Lexis and Westlaw accounts for summer and post-grad work? Below is information about permitted use of your accounts, as well as additional databases available through Mabie Law Library.

Students may use their law school Westlaw accounts during the summer for non-commercial research only. 

Welcome New Research Law Librarian Stephanie Grace

We are pleased to welcome Stephanie Grace as our newest Research Law Librarian. Stephanie will provide library reference and research services and participate in our legal research instruction. She received her J.D. from Capital University Law School, is currently pursuing a master's in library science at the University of Washington, and has a background in intercollegiate athletics compliance and sports management.

Legal Research Certification Programs Available on Bloomberg Law, Lexis, and Westlaw

Would you like to improve your legal research skills? Bloomberg Law, Lexis and Westlaw each offer legal research certification programs. After completion, students may list certifications on their resumes. See below for a summary of topics available and note that login credentials are required to access the courses. West Academic and Foundation Press Early eBook Access

West Academic is offering temporary, trial eBook access to West Academic and Foundation Press® textbooks adopted for Spring 2024 courses. This trial access will be available through the first two weeks of spring semester. Follow these instructions to register.

Legal scholarship & other legal sources

Many law school papers and student notes require research outside of Westlaw & Lexis. The law library subscribes to databases and has developed resources that may be useful in finding articles and other material on your research topic. Examples:

West Academic and Foundation Press Early eBook Access

West Academic is offering temporary, free eBook access to West Academic and Foundation Press casebooks being used in fall courses at the law school. Students may register for online access starting Monday, August 14th and will have access through the first two weeks of classes.
