UC Davis Students Compete at National Trial Competition
The trial team of Nabil Bisharat '09, Krista Maher '08, and Jimmy McBirney '08, supported by team members Donmarc Dimaranan '09, Kathleen Rojas '08, and Jeffrey Edwards '09, competed at the 33rd Annual National Trial Competition, National Championship Rounds in Austin, Texas, March 26-29. The competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious law school trial competitions, hosted by the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). The team of Bisharat, Maher, and McBirney competed in three preliminary rounds. They tried cases against regional champions from the University of Georgia School of Law; Faulkner University of Montgomery, Alabama; and University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law. The team members thanked former trial team members Michelle Prince'03 and Aaron Maguire '01, who helped prepare the team for the National Championship Rounds in Texas. The team was coached by Daniel Boone '90 and Professor Ed Imwinkelried. In the past two decades, UC Davis has produced six regional champion teams who have competed at the National Championship tournament.
