Six King Hall Students Receive Stevens Public Interest Fellowships

Six UC Davis Law students have received prestigious John Paul Stevens Foundation Public Interest Fellowships.

The foundation is supporting the summer work of Mario Garcia, Cesar Hernandez and Florentino Riesgo-Hawthorne—all Class of 2027—at the Sacramento County Public Defender’s office. Aleeza Khan ’27 (Immigration Institute of the Bay Area), Kimberly Moreno Aguilar ’28 (Office of the Federal Defender, California Eastern District) and Mykal Pacheco ’27 (Open Door Legal) also received fellowships.

The foundation honors late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stevens’ commitment to public service by supporting law students who spend the summer working in otherwise unpaid public interest internships. Approximately 150 law students from around the country received fellowships this year.
