Student Honored for Advancing Legal Interests of Children
The National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC) will honor Javier Barraza '06 for his essay Violations of the Rights of Unaccompanied Immigrant Children in the United States and the Need for Appointed Counsel at their national conference held in Los Angeles in August 2005. Each year, as part of NACC's commitment to the development and maintenance of the field of children's law as a legal specialty, the Association offers a national student writing competition for law students to promote interest in the profession. Barraza won second place.
