UC Davis Law’s Black Law Students Association (BLSA) was named National Chapter of the Year at the 58th National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) Convention, held March 18-22 in Portland, Ore.

"To have our work recognized nationally as the best BLSA chapter further affirms our mission to support Black students, build community, and create a safe and empowering space at King Hall and beyond," UC Davis BLSA President Jaleel Baker '27 said.

In addition, BLSA's Mock Trial team competed in nationals, advancing to the elimination rounds for the team's best showing in recent years. Also at the convention, UC Davis group Vice President Joy George '27 was elected national BLSA secretary.

The UC Davis Law group was honored as the Western Region Black Law Students Association Chapter of the Year earlier this year.
