Public Defender Praises Law Students
The Yolo County Public Defender's Office Intern Training Program and three UC Davis School of Law interns are noted in an article in the Daily Democrat. “Our legal interns do a tremendous service to our clients and are an incredible asset to our lawyers. Some of our best research and writing is done by our legal interns," the public defender said.
The three legal interns from UC Davis Law School include:
Intern Jessica Falk '08, who also interned at the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic, conducted legal research for the Sacramento Superior Court, and served as law clerk for a private criminal defense attorney.
Intern Shay Fluharty '09 has a masters in teaching and, as part of a national service corps, has taught in the low-performing south side of Chicago and at a remedial summer program for secondary students in Watts.
Intern Bina Ghanaat '09 was a member of the UC Davis School of Law National Mock Trial Team.
