Professor Pruitt addresses rural poverty issues at UC Davis panel discussion
Professor Lisa Pruitt spoke about rural poverty challenges and potential solutions on Jan. 22 as part of an online panel discussion on “Priorities and Policies of the Biden Administration.” The event, presented by the UC Davis Center for Poverty and Inequality Research, also included UC Davis faculty in economics, sociology, public health, education and violence research.
Lisa R. Pruitt, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor at UC Davis School of Law, is a scholar whose recent work explores the legal relevance of rural spatiality, including how it inflects dimensions of gender, race, and ethnicity. Pruitt's work also considers rural-urban difference in transnational and international contexts. She is the recipient of the law school’s 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award.
