Lizzette Gomez '17 Receives Peggy Browning Fellowship

Lizzette Gomez '17 has been selected to receive a prestigious Peggy Browning Fund Fellowship.  She will spend the fellowship working at the Agricultural Labor Relations Board in Visalia, California.

The Peggy Browning Fund is a not-for-profit organization established in memory of Margaret A. Browning, a prominent attorney who was a member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from 1994 until 1997. In 2015, the Peggy Browning Fund will support nearly 80 public interest labor law fellowships nationwide. With more than 400 applicants from 150 participating law schools, securing a Peggy Browning Fellowship is highly competitive.

A daughter of Mexican immigrants, Gomez has interned with the Mexican American Education Fund (MALDEF) in Washington, D.C., served for two years as an AmeriCorps volunteer with The People's Institute Northwest in Seattle, Washington, and is a member of the King Hall La Raza Law Students and a research editor for the Journal on Juvenile Law and Policy.
