Law Student Awarded Foundation State Bar Scholarship
Sarah Ropelato '07 was awarded the 2007 Imelda Rosenthal Bar Exam Scholarship for Public Interest. The scholarship, administered by the Foundation State Bar of California, provides financial support to outstanding graduating California law students who are embarking on careers in public service law. The top five scholarship winners receive California Bar/Bri Law Review Bar Exam review courses, and the remaining winners receive scholarships to help defray fees and related costs of taking the California Bar Exam.
Candidates are nominated by their law school. This year, the Foundation State Bar of California recieved 56 applications from 17 California law schools. A total of 17 students were selected for the Rosenthal Scholarship. The Committee considered each applicant's demonstrated commitment to public service, academic performance, financial need, and personal circumstances. Preference was given to applicants who can demonstrate a long-term commitment to public service.
