KHLF Awards Bar Grants to Graduates
The King Hall Legal Foundation (KHLF) announced at their Spring Auction, February 22, 2008, that they will award KHLF Bar Grants to graduating law students pursuing careers in the public interest. As part of KHLF's mission to support public interest students, the KHLF board decided to offer these grants as a way to encourage students choosing careers in public interest.
This year, the KHLF Bar Grants are $4,500 per recipient and will cover the cost of a Bar prep class, Bar registration fees, and other Bar-related expenses. To be eligible, applicants must be 2008 graduates of the UC Davis School of Law and taking the summer 2008 Bar exam in any state. The grantees will also need to be employed at a public interest job by January 1, 2009.
The award recipients were announced at the Public Service Graduation, April 24, 2008. They are Monica Ashiku '08, Andrea Randisi '08, and Nagmeh Shariatmadar '08.
KHLF raised the money for the Bar Grants, with support from the Mabie-Apallas Public Interest Chair. For more information about the program or to make a donation to support the program, please contact Alan Boudreau ([email protected]) or Eunice Kang ([email protected]).
