Johnathan Baldauf '15, Sammy Duvvuri '15, Minal Khan '15, Sean Piers '15 Honored with Hogan Award

Johnathan Baldauf '15, Sammy Duvvuri '15, Minal Khan '15, and Sean Piers '15 have been selected to receive the 2015 James E. Hogan Moot Court Award. The award, which honors students for their moot court performance and contributions to the moot court program, is named in memory of the late Professor James E. Hogan.

All of the awardees represented King Hall in interschool competitions. Khan and Baldauf served as chair and vice chair, respectively, for the Irving L. Neumiller Competition and Asylum and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition. Baldauf, Khan, and Piers coached teams during the 2014-15 academic  year. Piers served as a problem writer for the 2015 Neumiller Competition. Duvvuri won an oralist award at the 2015 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and co-wrote a ranked brief this year, in addition to competing on a mock trial competition at UC Hastings during the fall of 2014.   

A member of the founding faculty at UC Davis School of Law, distinguished scholar, and outstanding teacher, Professor Hogan excelled in moot court as a student, winning the National Moot Court Competition in 1955 and earning Best Individual Oral Presentation.
