Joel Murray '11 Elected President of the Natl. Democratic Law Students Council
Joel Murray '11, co-chair of the Law School Democrats at King Hall, has been elected President of the National Democratic Law Students Council. The NDLSC supports more than 85 law school chapters across the country in their efforts to advance justice and other Democratic ideals. The Council supports Democratic campaigns and candidates, cultivates the next generation of Democratic leaders, and works to ensure that every eligible voter is allowed to cast a vote and that every vote is counted.
Over the next year, the Council will work to merge into the Democratic National Committee (DNC), found new chapters and expand membership, and connect law students opportunities to get involved with Democratic state and local political campaigns in the 2010 midterm elections. The Council anticipates heavy student participation in its efforts in swing districts and states. This involvement will primarily consist of voter protection, legal and policy research, and providing volunteers for campaign activities.
