International Women's Week

The UC Davis Feminist Forum is hosting International Women's Week. All events are held at noon in the Wilkins Moot Courtroom.

Is Disability Rights a Feminist Issue?
Monday, March 5, 2007
The week begins with a talk by History Professor Cathy Kudlick and Law Professor Marty West. They will address issues confronting disabled women in their search for equality. The event is co-sponsored with the Law and Disability Society. Lunch will be served.

The Bio-Ethics of Egg Harvesting
Tuesday, March 6, 2007
A panel hosted by Law Professor Lisa Ikemoto will present the issue of egg harvesting and bio-ethics. The event is co-sponsored by Law Students for Choice. Lunch will be provided.

Women of Color in Private Practice
Wednesday, March 7, 2007
A panel of private practitioners will present on the unique challenge for private law firms in recruiting and retaining women of color. The panel will be hosted and moderated by Professor Jennifer Chacon. The event is co-sponsored with MESALSA, LARAZA, APALSA, and BLSA. Lunch will be provided.

Film Viewing
Thursday, March 8, 2007
Join Feminist Forum for an interesting film viewing and discussion in honor of International Women's Day celebrated around the world. Lunch will be provided.

Feminist Forum Shadow Day
Friday, March 9, 2007, 8 am-2 pm
Feminist Forum is sponsoring a Shadow Day for prospective feminist students on Friday. The day begins with a breakfast mixer with faculty and staff at 8 am in the School of Law student lounge. Students will attend classes and then mingle with current students over lunch at noon.
