HALO Receives a Kaplan Award

Law students in the School of Law Humanitarian Aid Legal Organization (HALO) were awarded honorable mention in the 2008 Kaplan Awards. The Award is open to teams of three or more currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate UC Davis students who worked together on projects that either began or have been active during the previous 12 months. The award recognizes student teams for their contributions to UC Davis, or to the community and education. Teams are judged on their impact on the community, demonstrated excellence in teamwork, understanding of teamwork, and the overall application presentation.

Over Spring Break, 22 UC Davis HALO law students worked in Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi, helping residents still devastated by the 2005 Hurricane Katrina.

Congratulations Team HALO!
