Class of '21's Hoang Pham, Allie Anderson and Emily Bills honored for appellate briefs

The California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) presented its annual awards for the best 1L briefs by UC Davis School of Law students (from spring 2019) last week at King Hall.

Hoang Pham received the first-place award and $2,500; Allie Anderson took second place, and a $1,500 prize; and Emily Bills placed third and received $1,000.

Justice Nathan D. Mihara of the California Sixth District Court of Appeal spoke at the event about the importance of clear, concise writing and the obligations of officers of the court.

CEB, a self-supporting nonprofit program of the University of California founded in 1947, provides California’s legal community with continuing legal education programs and with publications and other resources. The CEB has presented its appellate brief awards to King Hall students for the past several years.
