Cesar Chavez Week In Review
La Raza Law Students hosted César Chávez Week during the week of March 12-15, 2007. The weeklong celebration honored the late founder and leader of the United Farm Workers of America. His tireless struggle on behalf of farm workers for decent wages and working conditions continues to inspire people today. The program included presentations and discussions by distinguished panelists about current issues affecting the Latino Community. Closing the week during the Annual Cruz Reynoso Lecture was Keynote Speaker Professor Emeritus Carlos Munoz, Jr. of UC Berkeley.
La Raza Law Students Association was founded in the early 1970s. La Raza is dedicated to increasing the number of Chicanos and Latinos in law school and the legal profession. To further this goal, La Raza actively engages in the recruitment of undergraduate students, academic and professional support for our current students, and the hiring process of faculty of color. La Raza also sponsors several events and activities throughout the year to promote awareness of issues facing the Latino community and to share the Latino culture and identity. La Raza has demonstrated to be one of the largest and most active law student organizations at King Hall.
