Asplin '08 Quoted on Lavender Law 2007

Law Student Association President Sarah Asplin '08 was quoted in the Windy City Times on the benefits of attending Lavender Law 2007, a conference hosted by the National Lesbian and Gay Law Association and held in Chicago, September 6-8, 2007.

"When you walk into an interview, you ask yourself certain questions, such as ‘Should I be out?,'" Asplin told Windy City Times. "By coming to a conference like this, you know that the answer is, ‘Of course I should be out.'... For gay people to advance in the law at all, they have to advance in firm life and firm culture."

The conference was attended by several hundred attorneys, law students, policy advocates, and even former President Bill Clinton. Conference events included workshops, a career fair, and networking opportunities.
