Appellate Advocacy Team Wins Regional

UC Davis School of Law sent two teams to the National Appellate Advocacy Competition regional tournament in Las Vegas on March 6-8, 2008. The 3L team consisted of Frances Burns '08 and Jeffrey Osofsky '08. The 2L team consisted of Nabil Bisharat '09, Mikayla Gow '09, and Eric Toscano '09. Both teams made it into the finals.

The 2L team won their final round to send UC Davis to the National Championships in Chicago.  Team Bisharat, Gow, and Toscano went undefeated, prevailing over Texas Wesleyan to qualify for the National Championship in April.  Second year Nabil Bisharat was honored as "Top Oralist," earning the highest average oral argument scores of any competitor. The team also won fourth place prize for "Best Brief."  The ABA's NAAC competition is regarded as one of the largest and most prestigious moot court competitions in the United States.
