Amelia Evard '21 and Hoang Pham '21 Publish Opinion Pieces in Hechinger Report

Two members of the Class of 2021, Amelia Evard and Hoang Pham, wrote opinion pieces published this month by the Hechinger Report, a national nonprofit newsroom that reports on education.

Evard’s op-ed, headlined “Once schools reopen fully, some lessons from distance learning will endure,” started as a project in Professor Lisa R. Pruitt’s Law and Rural Livelihoods class. It was published on May 5. Read the op-ed.

Pham, an experienced educator, interviewed middle- and high school students for his May 13 piece, headlined “We should not leave black students out of any debate to reinvent schools.” Read the op-ed.
