Aliyah Abdullah '10 Profiled in Stockton Record
Aliyah Abdullah '10, a featured speaker at the Class of 2010 Commencement on May 14, was the subject of "You can call her Mom, J.D.," a profile in the Stockton Record. The article recounts Abdullah's experiences growing up in rough neighborhood of southeast Stockton and how she succeeded in earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Pacific and her law degree from King Hall despite a busy schedule that includes caring for her eight-year-old son.
Abdullah said she looks forward to practicing law in Stockton and mentoring at-risk youth there. "I feel that if I don't give back to the community I came from, then I'm not a success," she said.
