Professor Tang Writes for N.Y. Times, L.A. Times Amid Book Release
Professor Aaron Tang has released a new book, Supreme Hubris: How Overconfidence is Destroying the Court – and How We Can Fix It (Yale University Press) and written prominent high court-related opinion pieces for the New York Times and Los Angeles Times.
Tang wrote a July 1 New York Times essay on the court’s decision in 303 Creative v. Elenis that affirmed a Christian graphic designer’s right to refuse service to gay and lesbian couples seeking to be married. On Aug. 6, Tang wrote for the Los Angeles Times about the court’s “overconfidence problem.” That opinion piece prompted a letter to the editor praising Tang’s take as “refreshing and enlightening.”
UC Davis Law will hold an event celebrating the release of Tang’s book on Sept. 18.
Aaron Tang is a constitutional law professor, frequent Supreme Court commentator, and the author of Supreme Hubris: How Overconfidence is Destroying the Court—And How We Can Fix It. He is a former law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
