Professor Hing Receives Outstanding Leadership Award at BAAPALSA Conference

Professor Bill Ong Hing received the Outstanding Leadership Award and delivered the keynote address the 9th Annual Bay Area Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (BAAPALSA) Conference on February 22 at UC Hastings College of the Law. Professor Hing was also part of a panel on "Current Issues in Immigration" with Professor Amagda Pérez, Sin Yen Ling, staff attorney at the Asian Law Caucus, and William R. Tamayo, Regional Attorney for the United States Equal Opportunity Commission, San Francisco District.  The Law School sponsored 25 King Hall students to attend the conference.  

Bill Ong Hing, a professor at UC Davis School of Law, is recognized nationally as an immigration law and race relations expert. He is the founder of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center in San Francisco.

Amagda Pérez is Director of the Immigration Law Clinic at the UC Davis School of Law and Executive Director of the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation.
