Meet New King Hall Alumni Board President and Members
In August, UC Davis School of Law welcomed Eric Toscano '09 as the new president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Toscano succeeds Errol Dauis '11 who provided excellent leadership and service as past president.
In addition, seven new members from the classes of 1990 to 2020 were appointed to the board. Representing diverse practice areas, from tech and intellectual property to public interest and tenant rights, these alumni will serve as ambassadors for King Hall, strengthen alumni connections, and advance the law school’s mission.
Eric Toscano ’09, President
Eric Toscano is Chief Executive Officer of Tenant Law Group. Founded in 2016, Toscano has grown Tenant Law Group from a de facto solo practice to the largest law firm in California dedicated exclusively to the representation of tenants. In this role, he leads a team of nearly forty legal professionals and scales the firm to serve approximately seventeen million California renters. Toscano earned an undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University and his law degree from UC Davis School of Law, where he was Student Bar Association President, a member of the Moot Court Board, and one of ten students in his class selected for membership in the Order of Barristers. Toscano has given back to the legal community through his involvement with King Hall. He has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors since 2020 and was elected President of the Board in July 2025. As President, Toscano will work with the board to strengthen connections among King Hall alumni; support current students through mentorship, networking, and career development; and celebrate and amplify the achievements of the UC Davis Law alumni community. Toscano will serve in this position through 2027 and said, "If you’re a fellow King Hall alum, I’d love to connect and hear your ideas for how we can make our alumni network even stronger. This is our community, and together we can ensure its continued growth and impact.”
Stephen Abreu ’07
Stephen Abreu is a partner in Sidley Austin LLP’s San Francisco Office. He focuses on structuring and negotiating complex intellectual property and commercial transactions for life sciences companies, including strategic collaborations, cross-border transactions, co-development, and license and manufacturing agreements. Abreu leverages both his graduate training as a molecular biologist and his experience leading monoclonal antibody research and development programs in advising his clients on their transactional and business matters. He attended UC Santa Cruz for his undergraduate and graduate degrees in molecular biology and UC Davis for law school. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
José Apolinar Olivera ’11
As the current Director & Associate General Counsel and Head of Security Legal in North America for Meta, José Apolinar Olivera helps protect user data, users, and the platform. He does this by providing legal guidance in regard to security, safety, and data disclosure issues. Olivera joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of eighteen, where he served for six years. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara, earning a degree in History, then attended King Hall where he received his Juris Doctor. He previously worked as a civil trial attorney in Washington, DC in the U.S. Justice Department and was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of California. He currently resides in the Sacramento area.
The Honorable Keith Fong ’90
The Honorable Keith Fong is a judge appointed by Governor Gavin Newson at the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in economics and political science, Fong then attended King Hall where he graduated in 1990 with his Juris Doctor. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Saundra Brown Armstrong in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. The Hon. Fong was re-elected in 2022 and will hold office until 2029. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Alexandria “Ali” Goff ’12
Ali Goff is the founder and CEO of Goff Legal, PC, a firm dedicated to estate planning and trust administration. As well as leading a strong team, she is a certified performance coach who supports fiduciaries and business owners. She received her bachelor's in criminal justice from California State University, Sacramento and Juris Doctor from UC Davis School of Law. During her years at King Hall, Ali was the Competitions Chair of the Negotiations Team (2010-2012), as well as part of the ABA Client Counseling Competition in 2011 as a regionalist and in 2012 as a semi-finalist. She was also an active board member with the Tax Law Society and part of the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy as Copy Editor (2009) and Section Writer (2010). She currently resides in the Sacramento area.
Roza Patterson ’18
Roza Patterson currently works at the California Department of Justice as a Deputy Attorney General in the Employment Law Section. She is also a lecturer at UCLA School of Law and teaches Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research for LL.M. students. She previously taught law classes at UC Davis School of Law as an adjunct lecturer. Patterson received her B.A. degrees summa cum laude in Communications, Political Science, and Human Rights from Southern Methodist University, her M.S. degree in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and her Juris Doctor from UC Davis Law. She currently resides in the Los Angeles area.
Prince Singh ’20
Prince Singh is an Associate Corporate Counsel for PlayStation at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Previously, he worked for Rocket Money, Inc in San Francisco where his practice focused on Advertising, Marketing, and IP Law. Singh is actively involved in diversity and equity efforts and strives to make an impact in his community while representing his Punjabi Sikh identity. He is currently on the board of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California. Outside of work, Singh is a visiting law lecturer at UC Davis School of Law, is on a professional Bhangra team, and is a dog dad. Singh earned his B.A. from UC Santa Barbara, his M.P.H. from Harvard University, and his Juris Doctor from UC Davis Law where he was the Class of 2020 Commencement Speaker. At King Hall, he also served on the Admissions Committee and held leadership roles in a variety of student organizations and journals.
Alison Stewart Cocotis ’93
Alison Stewart Cocotis received her Juris Doctor from UC Davis School of Law in 1993 where she was an Executive Editor of the UC Davis Law Review and a contributing writer to the Environs Environmental Law & Policy Journal. She worked as an associate attorney with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and a Deputy City Attorney for the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office. Cocotis has an LL.M. in International Legal Studies with Honors from Golden Gate University School of Law and taught international trade and environment law at UC Hastings and UC Davis Law. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
