Law Students for Choice is hosting Emergency Contraception Awareness Day on Tuesday, February 13, 2007. Nicole Monastersky Maderas, MPH, will speak at noon in Room 2001 in King Hall. Lunch will be provided.
Maderas manages Pharmacy Access Partnership's national re-granting program to promote access to emergency contraceptives in pharmacies at the individual state level. She coordinates pharmacy training programs and leads a new program to enhance pharmacy services in the Latino community. She also previously managed the clinical demonstration project on injectable contraception. Her previous work experience includes Mexfam, Mexico’s family planning association, where she worked at the local level on an evaluation of family planning services provided in clinics nationwide. Maderas received her Masters in Public Health from UCLA and completed her undergraduate degree with honors from UC Berkeley. She was a Fellow of the California Women’s Foundation, Women’s Policy Institute in 2005-2006.
