Knize '08, Globerson '07, Siptroth '07 Publish Student Papers
Three recent King Hall alumni have published papers written while students at the UC Davis School of Law.
Micah Globerson '07 published "Protecting Women: A Feminist Legal Analysis of the HPV Vaccine, Gardasil" in the Texas Journal of Women and the Law in October. The paper was written for a course in Feminist Legal Theory taught by Professor Lisa Pruitt. Globerson, who was the technical editor of the UC Davis Law Review while at King Hall, works as a Regulatory Specialist for the United States Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C. in the Office of Infrastructure and Engineering within the Bureau of Economic Growth, Agriculture, and Trade."
"Payday Lending in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas: Toward Effective Protections for Borrowers" by Megan Knize '08 will be published by the Louisiana Law Review in January 2009. The paper was written for a course in Law and Rural Livelihoods taught by Professor Pruitt. Knize, who was Editor in Chief of the UC Davis Law Review and sat on the board of the King Hall Legal Foundation for three years during her time at King Hall, is currently working as a litigation associate with Dewey & LeBoeuf in San Francisco.
Stephen Siptroth '07 published three papers authored or co-authored during his student days at King Hall. Siptroth's "Can the Seminary Model Save the Legal Profession?", written in Professor Pruitt's Sociology and the Legal Profession course, was published in the Winter 2007 Brigham Young University Education and Law Journal, and "Welcoming All to a Table of Plenty: The Free Trade Area and the Bolivarian Alternative as Competing Means of Economic Integration in the Americas" was published in the Winter 2007 issue of the UCLA Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs. He co-authored with Paul J. Levesque, a Professor of Comparative Religion at CSU, Fullerton, "The Correlation between the Political and Ecclesial Ideologies of Catholic Priests," which appeared in the Winter 2005 issue of Sociology of Religion. Siptroth is practicing municipal law and water law at Bartkiewicz, Kronick & Shanahan in Sacramento.
