King Hall to Participate in John Paul Stevens Fellowship Program
UC Davis School of Law has announced that the Law School will participate in the John Paul Stevens Public Interest Fellowship program, which will provide two King Hall law students grants of $5,000 each to support their Summer 2011 work in public interest law.
The 2011 scholarship is the product of a partnership between the UC Davis School of Law and the John Paul Stevens Public Interest Fellowship Foundation, which was established by former law clerks of Stevens, an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1975 until his retirement last year. Justice Stevens was the subject of a UC Davis Law Review symposium in 2009, and Professor Diane Marie Amann, a former Stevens clerk and Director of the California International Law Center at King Hall (CILC), is at work on a book about the Justice.
The Stevens Fellowships will recognize chosen law students' commitment to public service and their potential for excellence throughout their legal careers. Any King Hall law student who secures a summer legal placement in service of the public interest, in the United States or abroad, is likely to be eligible for the Stevens Fellowship.
