King Hall Open House Draws Impressive Turnout
An impressive group of Law School faculty, alumni, staff, and students were on hand to greet newly admitted students at the King Hall Admitted Students Open House April 3-4. More than 100 guests turned up for the event, which included panel discussions, presentations on the Mabie Law Library, financial aid, first-year curriculum, and other subjects, as well as a UC Davis campus tour and a performance by the student vocal group Law Cappella.
Faculty participating in the Open House included Associate Dean Vikram Amar, who presented a mock class and participated in a welcome panel. Professors Albert Lin and Courtney Joslin took part in a panel on Public Interest and Environmental Law with alumni Larry Haveson '90, who practices consumer environmental law with Hirst & Chanler, and Jake Rambo '01, who is a member of the Criminal Justice faculty at Phoenix University. Professors Diane Marie Amann and Dylan Malagrino were part of a panel on International and Business Law with alumni B.J. Susich '06, an associate in Boutin Gibson Di Giusto Hodell, and Marlon Cobar '00, an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of California.
Also giving presentations were Law Students Association President Eric Toscano '09, Emily Randon, Director of Academic Services, Sharon Pinckney, Assistant Dean for Admission and Enrollment, Jamie Butler, Director of Information Technology, Lawrence Gallardo, Director of Financial Aid, Mindy Baggish, Director of Career Services, and Peg Durkin, Head of Public Services for the Mabie Law Library.
