Katherine McGrath '16 Receives the California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) Award

Katherine McGrath '16 received the California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) Award for the best brief from a first-year UC Davis School of Law student at an awards ceremony hosted by CEB on October 20 at King Hall. The award comes with a $2,500 scholarship provided by CEB, which offers educational programs for practicing lawyers and practice books that are used by lawyers throughout the state.

Each of King Hall's Legal Writing and Research instructors submitted a brief written by one of their students for consideration.  In addition to Katherine McGrath, the nominees were Amy Kim, Amanda Whitney, and Emily Iannarelli. The winner was chosen by Director of Academic Support Chris Ide-Don.

The award ceremony was attended by King Hall's Legal Research and Writing instructors-Angelo DeSantis, Lawrence Green, Barbara Miltner, and Clay Tanaka-as well as the nominated students, and Chris Ide-Don. Representing the CEB were Elle Segal, Outreach Manager and Linda Russell, Director of Product Development.
