Instructors Lisa Klotz and Clarisa Sudarma join expanded legal writing program

UC Davis School of Law has hired two new instructors, Lisa Klotz and Clarisa Sudarma ’12, as part of its newly expanded Legal Research and Writing program.

Klotz has taught Legal Reasoning, Research and Writing to UC Davis undergraduates as part of the University Writing Program since 2013. She also has taught Legal Research and Writing at the University of North Carolina School of Law. Klotz holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Shortly after graduating from UC Davis School of Law, Sudarma became deputy counsel for the Solano County Counsel, where she represents the Child Welfare Department in open dependency cases. While a student at King Hall, she externed at the Sixth District Court of Appeal.

Beside the two new LRW instructors, the law school added tutors to nearly every 1L class and hired another tutor to assist with 1L skills workshops and individual meetings. The aim is to bolster the support available for first-year students.

UC Davis Law also has hired two new faculty members, Stacy-Ann Elvy and Karrigan Börk, for the 2019-20 academic year. They join two other recent additions to the faculty, Menesh Patel and Shayak Sarkar.
