Child Law Week
The Advocates for the Rights of Children (ARC) is sponsoring Child Law Week. A series of lunchtime events are planned beginning October 24, 2005. On Monday, the Academy Award winning documentary, Born into Brothels, will be shown. Later in the week, visiting speakers will address issues involving the juvenile justice system, child labor, and education law.
ARC was established in 1993 by UC Davis law students. ARC seeks to create a network of law students with similar interests in children's issues and the law; to engage in community service activities benefiting disadvantaged children; to participate in legislative and policy advocacy activities to improve the area of children's law; and to educate the Law School community and the public about the problems and legal issues affecting children.
