‘API Women on the Bench' Panel to Feature King Hall Alumnae

The UC Davis Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) is sponsoring a series of exciting events as part of this year's Asian Pacific Islander (API) Week Celebration March 16 -19, including a panel discussion entitled "Ladies First: API Women on the Bench" that features King Hall alumnae.  Participating in the panel will be: 

  • San Diego Superior Court Judge Patricia Cowett '72, who was the first Chinese American woman in the nation to be appointed to the bench; 
  • Associate Justice Tani Cantil Sakauye '84 of the California State Court of Appeal, District 3, the first API woman to be appointed to the 3rd District Court;
  • Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Jacqueline My Le Duong '94, the first Vietnamese American woman to be appointed to the bench in Northern California.
