Alum Diane Boyer-Vine Writes Opinion on Proposed State Wage Cut
Alum Diane Boyer-Vine '86, legislative counsel for the State of California, sided with State Controller John Chiang, on whether or not Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger can force Chiang to begin paying state workers only the minimum wage in August. Schwarzenegger signed an executive order on July 31, cutting workers' pay to $6.55 per hour until a state budget agreement is finalized. After an agreement is reached, employees would be reimbursed their full wages. Chiang has opposed the governor's plan and vowed to continue paying workers their full salary.
Boyer-Vine has occupied the position of legislative counsel for the State of California since 2002. She is the first female to lead this office.
