Thanks to UC Davis Law’s veterans
UC Davis law student Taylor Kensy ’20 with his wife, Diana, and their children, Caleb and Mila
Veterans Day reminds us of the many UC Davis School of Law students, past and present, who have served in the military. Students like Captain Taylor Kensy ’20, who was profiled over the summer by UC Davis Magazine.
A West Point graduate, Taylor is attending law school through the Army’s Funded Legal Education Program. Through this program, the military pays for his tuition, and Taylor remains on active duty while in school. When he graduates, he will continue to serve, and work as an attorney for the Army. In the UC Davis Magazine story , Taylor said his motivation for his career — from joining the Army to getting a law degree — is helping his fellow soldier. He told the magazine, “It’s what I see as my role in serving our nation [and] being able to help other service members.”
King Hall also has an active Veterans Association, and the class of 2022, our first-year class, upholds the tradition of law students with military pasts: 10 class members are veterans. To all the UC Davis Law veterans, thank you for your bravery, and commitment to your country.
