2024 California Environmental Assembly

Last weekend, the Planning and Conservation League (PCL) held its 2024 California Environmental Assembly at UC Davis School of Law. The theme for the assembly was Life Beyond 1.5 Degrees: Hard Truths and Solutions. The PCL strongly believes we are falling short of enacting measures that will curb the climate crisis fast enough to avoid catastrophic impacts.

The School of Law's California Environmental Law & Policy Center hosted the event. The Assembly featured insightful and impactful panels on the critical issues we must tackle if we are to face climate change. In just the last two years, almost a dozen bills have emerged out of the panels and conversations at the Assembly.

This year's keynote speaker was Liane Randolph, Chair of the California Air Resources Board. The 2023 Environmental Hero Award was presented to California State Senator Ben Allen, who has advocated for the climate crisis and protecting our state's natural resources. I was honored to meet Senator Allen and thank him for all of his hard work for the environment and otherwise.
