Wajahat Ali ‘07 Featured in San Francisco Panorama
An article by Wajahat Ali '07 is featured alongside works by Stephen King, Dave Eggers, Michael Chabon, and other bestselling authors in The San Francisco Panorama, the latest issue of the literary journal McSweeney's Quarterly. The publication, a 300-page broadsheet made to resemble a Sunday newspaper, is billed as a celebration of print journalism and features writing that "represents contemporary literary journalism at its best," according to the Los Angeles Times. Ali's contribution tells the story of his battle to save a Sacramento family's home from foreclosure.
Ali, a Pakistani-American who grew up in Fremont before attending UC Berkeley and then King Hall, has enjoyed a successful career as a writer, contributing essays and articles to publications including The Guardian of London and The Huffington Post. His play, "The Domestic Crusaders," premiered in New York in September.
